About Tom Jones
Tom Jones has been the recipient of state,
regional and national awards for his distinctive style of photography.
In 1979, he was awarded the coveted degree of Photographic Craftsman by the
Professional Photographers of America
and in 1980, Mr. Jones received the degree of Master Photographer
from the Professional Photographers of America, a degree
less than 900 people in the world hold. Twice named "Photographer of the Year"
by the New England Press Association, Mr. Jones' work is published in national magazines
as well as in local publications. His work was selected to be displayed in the "Innovations East"
building at Epcot.
Mr. Jones work has been exhibited throughout New England as well as at national and international shows. Tom Jones' has illustrated several
books with his beautiful photographs of Maine scenes.
Several noted people whom Mr. Jones has photographed include
the Queen of England, Senator Edmund S. Muskie, President Bill Clinton,
Senator George Mitchell, Governor Angus King, Governor John McKernan, Governor Joe Brennan,
Ambassador Kennith C. Curtis, Representative Tom Allen
actress Bette Davis, author Stephen King, Olympic Gold Medalist Dorothy Hamill and
the family of TV personalities Maury Povitch and Connie Chung. He has served as President of the Maine Professional Photographers
Association and as Vice President of the Professional Photographers Association of New England.
A noted lecturer in photography, Mr. Jones has spoken at colleges and universities
throughout New England, to professional photographic seminars from coast to coast and at National Conventions of the Professional Photographers of America.
